Paid New Media Internship!
Does using social media come naturally to you? Would you like to get paid to set up a Facebook page, create a YouTube video, Tweet and/or improve a web page? Please help a local organization meet its mission.
CCV has funding ($1000 at $8.50/hour) to pay a CCV Winooski New Media Leader to assist a local non-profit in building capacity to better serve our community through the use of technology. The student will work closely with their internship supervisor and the agency to identify the need (s) and create relevant new media work.
Please contact amy.stuart@ccv.edu (or visit her in person, 210J) for an application.

What does tea have in common with crayons?
It just so happened that student Kylee Rowden had a friend stationed in Afghanistan who had just contacted her about Operation Outreach Afghanistan (http://www.operationoutreachafg.org). This program helps American soldiers stationed there to provide school supplies to Afghani children as part of their humanitarian efforts.
The class responded with enthusiasm and as you can see, enough supplies to stuff multiple boxes.
Check out the photos:
Their motto: “Changing the world, one box of crayons at a time.”
CCV Instructor, Sharon Webster featured at the ART HOP!
This year during Art Hop, Sharon Webster's work will be at RED CONCRETE, in a nifty room to the left of the SEABA Office in the enclave off of 180 Flynn Ave. Go toward Oakledge Park, past Flynndog, then past the RR tracks: Take a right, then veer left following signs.
Here's the website for more info on the action-packed Art Hop http://www.seaba.com/events

Save the Date: CCV Faculty Solo Art Show
A bit about the artist (from the FS Gallery web page):
Gail Salzman is considered one of New England's most accomplished colorists. Her paintings have been exhibited nationally and are represented in numerous private collections. She has been honored with a painting award from the NEA and grants from the Vermont Arts Council and the Vermont Arts Endowment Fund.
Constantly evolving, Salzman's imagery has grown increasingly abstract while retaining its luminous color and painterly quality. In recent years the improvisational process of printmaking has engaged Salzman and informed her visual language. Various rolling and scraping techniques have enriched the layered surface that remains integral to her oil paintings as well as her monoprints and other works on paper.
We'll see you there!
