Sharon is an artist and writer, and teaches Intro to Studio art here in Winooski.

Come in a little early to grab a free cup of coffee from the lobby. While you’re here, grab some success resources and fill out our survey.
Tuesday, February 21st - The Advisor Is In
Swing by the lobby to talk with an advisor, fill out our survey, and learn about how CCV can support you.
Wednesday, February 22nd - Happy Fun Times
Grab a snack and swing by the Community Area to enjoy a few moments of fun. Laughter is a great way to relieve stress, so we’ll be showing funny movies and TV shows all day.

Free Assisted Self-Service Tax (FAST) Program
United Way of Chittenden County and the Working Bridges Program announce an alternate way to prepare your own tax return!
New this year -- You can prepare your own federal and state tax returns at a FAST Site. IRS trained Volunteers will be on site to assist you and answer questions.
Who’s eligible for this free service?
- Anyone - if your income is less than $31,000
- Age 25 or younger, or, age 65 or older – if your income is less than $58,000
FAST sites are a walk-in service. Returns are prepared on a first-come, first-serve basis. FAST sites can be found at the following locations:
- Community College of Vermont (CCV), 1 Abenaki Way - Winooski
- Fridays-February 10 & 24, March 9 & 23, April 6, from 11am to 6pm
- Saturdays-February 11 & 25, March 10 & 24, April 7 from 9am to 3pm
- Champlain Housing Trust, 88 King St, Burlington
- Fridays-February 17, March 16, April 3 from 3pm to 7pm
- Saturdays-March 3 & 31 from 10am to 4pm
- Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO), 255 So Champlain St, Burlington through April 17
- Monday through Thursday, from 9am to 3pm
- Saturdays, from 10am to 2pm
- Tuesday and Thursday evening, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm
- Social security numbers and birth dates for yourself and all dependents.
- All income tax documents – W-2s, 1099s, unemployment amount received, gambling winning amounts and any other income statements or amounts
- Amount of student loan interest paid
- Amount paid for child care
- Checking or savings account information if direct deposit of refund wanted.
- For state returns, landlord certificate and entire house hold income (if renting) and property tax bill (if homeowner)

Our Conversation Partners is an opportunity for both ELL students and native English speakers to learn about each other by creating meaningful relationships. ELL stands for English Language Learners.

Our Conversation Partners is an opportunity for both ELL students and native English speakers to learn about each other by creating meaningful relationships. ELL stands for English Language Learners.
Conversation Partners Group:
- Provides a platform for international students and Americans (community members) to make friends.
- Helps partners increase their knowledge and understanding of other cultures;
- Allows students to practice speaking English and foreign languages with native speakers outside classrooms;
- Enhances ELL students’ understanding of college culture and the American education system;
- Does not encourage native speakers to do homework for ELL students;
- Encourages ELL students to bring their homework to CCV Learning Center’s tutors;
- Provides an informal one-on-one and group togethers;
- Encourages ELL students to actively participate in CCV activities;
- Helps them form meaningful relationships with their teachers, advisors, and other students;
- Supports partners while they enjoy each other;
- Gives “green light” and freedom to partners to choose their topics, meeting time, place and frequency;
- Helps partners learn new stuff while having fun.
