Student Success Week: February 23 - 27
This week is Student Success Week at CCV Burlington! This week, the fifth week of the semester, is a time when many students start to feel the pressure of impending midterm exams, papers, and other due dates.
In order to help alleviate the stress of this busy time, students can stop by the 119 Pearl Street lobby or the Learning Center (Cherry Street Building, room 204) to pick up some great resources on student success skills like time management, stress relief, note taking, math study tips, and much, much more. We also have free snacks available in both locations! If you are having problems with your classes and need help, please stop by to pick up some resources, have a bite to eat and maybe even speak to an on-call academic advisor.
Hang in there! You can do it!

Combat Paper Project Returns to Burlington
In October, the CCV Burlington Blog reported on the Combat Paper Project (click here to view the story) which was started by Drew Cameron, a US Army vet and former CCV student, as well as Drew Mattot, a former CCV staff member. We are now happy to report that the Combat Paper Project is returning to to Burlington! The Firehouse Gallery on Church Street will be featuring the Combat Paper Project from February 20 through April 11.
This project features Vermont artists and Iraq war veterans “who will transform the gallery into a functioning papermaking studio. These artists recruit veterans who cut, grind and cook their military uniforms into pulp, and then form them into sheets of paper. Using the transformation processes…the veterans reclaim their uniforms as art and begin to reconcile their experiences as soldiers in Iraq.”
This project has gotten a lot of press, and promises to provide an interesting dialogue. An artist talk is scheduled for 2/20 from 5-6 pm followed by a reception. There will be a performance and readings on Saturday, March 28th from 1-4pm, and workshops running each Saturday from 1-4. You are advised to call in advance to reserve a spot for these, as space will be limited. The number is 865-7165.
We hope you will consider taking a walk down church street to check out this interesting and moving project.
