Services Counselor
VSAC is seeking a
Counselor to lead a new approach in providing educational, career, and
financial aid counseling to Vermont parents of secondary and post-secondary
students and adults looking to change or improve their career
paths. This exciting opportunity includes both group presentations
and individual counseling to assist with understanding the changing pedagogy of
secondary schools, preparing and planning for postsecondary education, career
awareness, financial aid decision-making, interest inventories and more.
A Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, or related field is required with
a minimum of three years of related experience in an educational environment;
Master’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent
communication and organizational skills, ability to work independently, as well
as demonstrated skills and experience with developing and maintaining client
relationships. The successful candidate will develop tailored
programming, presentations, and related materials. Must have a valid
driver’s license along with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Background check and
have a legally inspected, registered and insured motor vehicle. .
